Resonate is an instrumental music ensemble that uses children’s chimes, handbells, Boomwhackers, and other pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments to foster the development of rhythmic skills, listening skills, and physical coordination. This group performs regularly for the 10:00 am Contemporary Worship and will be featured during special programs and services throughout the year. Students do not need prior experience reading music or ringing bells. Resonate is led by Jason Horner, Director of Music Ministries.
STLC Kids Midweek is a program for children in Grades 1-5. At Kids Midweek, children participate in music learning, Bible study, games, crafts, and activities, and learn about the use of the voice and musical instruments as tools for worship that express the heart of God.
STLC Kids Midweek meets each Wednesday throughout the academic year, 5:45-7:30 pm in the Music Room (upper level, Room 220) and Room 100 (lower level).
Opportunities for participation each Wednesday at Kids Midweek include:
- 5:45-6:10 pm - Choristers is a children’s choir for Grades 1-5 that is part of our STLC Kids Midweek program and includes training on proper use of the voice (breathing, articulation, and presentation). This group sings regularly for the 10:00 am Contemporary Worship. Choristers is led by Jason Horner, Director of Music Ministries, assisted on piano by Judy Oleson.
- 6:10-6:30 pm - Resonate (see description above)
- 6:30-7:30 pm - Bible Study along with games, crafts, and prayer are led by Anna Howard, Children's Ministry Director.
Christmas Program: STLC Kids Midweek present a unique, creative, and fun children's Christmas Program each December.
