First Communion is available to children in 4th Grade and older. Come learn the significance and meaning of this sacrament and begin receiving Holy Communion each week in worship! We celebrate with you in this milestone in your faith development!
First Communion is held once annually and includes:
- First Communion Instruction: The student and a parent/guardian are required to attend the First Communion Instruction session. (Last held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 6:15-7:30 pm, Room 100 (lower level).)
- First Communion Bread Baking: Join us for a fun morning of baking! To experience what volunteers do each week to provide our church family with communion bread, students and parents are given the opportunity to bake the bread! All supplies are provided. (Last held Saturday, February 28, 2026, 9:30-11:30 am, Fellowship Hall.)
- Receive your First Communion in Worship: The student and their family are invited to worship where they will receive their First Communion. Worship is livestreamed for family and friends who are unable to attend. (Last held Sunday, March 1, 2026, 10:00 am, Community Life Center.)
- Cake Reception: Following the 10:00 am worship, the students, family, and friends are invited to celebrate this milestone with a cake reception in the Fellowship Hall.
Materials: Each First Communion student will need:
- "Fed and Forgiven" booklet or study materials (provided)
- Communion Bread recipe and supplies (provided)
- Your own Bible (not provided). Students will be asked to look up Bible verses.
